  1. Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network Partners with Law Enforcement to Reduce Opioid Deaths

    In response to the rising opioid epidemic, Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network is working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the Recovery Research Network, Rebel Recovery, and Wellpath LLC to expand community-based services to incarcerated individuals. The goal of this partnership, known as the Medication Assisted and Peer Services program, is to improve recovery rates for incarcerated people in Palm Beach County. Partners in the MAPS program increase access to behavioral health care services for incarcerated individuals living with opioid use disorders. The program provides enhanced screenings and assessments, medication-assisted treatment, and counseling.   2. Wellpath In the News: San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara county jails begin vaccinating contract health workers

    Medical employees who work under contract at the Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo county jails are in the process of getting vaccinated against COVID-19 as part of the statewide effort to begin protecting frontline workers against the virus, according to officials. The employees are contracted by Wellpath, a Nashville-based inmate health company. Inmates and custody deputies in San Luis Obispo are not being offered the vaccine, according to San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Grace Norris. It was unclear whether they were offered the vaccine in Santa Barbara County.
