Wellpath Partners,

As communities around the country begin to open up, we are beginning to see corresponding increases in positive cases in our facilities. As your healthcare partner we feel it is our responsibility to make sure we have communicated our recommendation that no matter what is happening in your community, together we must stay vigilant and firm with regard to COVID-19 mitigation strategies. This means we suggest maintaining all core tactics and techniques designed to slow the spread including: masking, hand hygiene, cohorting, quarantining, limiting in person visits, and ensuring safe interactions with outside vendors. In addition, now more than ever it is critical that our staff understand the importance of masking and social distancing when they are not at work, to reduce the chance that they may bring the virus into the facility.

For convenience, please click this link to revisit the CDC’s Interim Guidance on Management of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Correctional and Detention Facilities.

We certainly understand the country’s fatigue around this crisis and desire to get back to normal, but no matter how we are feeling, we must still contend with this virus, and a second wave seems more than likely.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me directly or to your Wellpath leaders. We are here to support you in our shared goal to keep our patients and team safe and healthy.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Tom Pangburn, MD
