MOVE IN RESPONSE TO “HEROIC WORK BY A DEDICATED TEAM PROVIDING HEALTHCARE TO THE MOST VULNERABLE AMONG US” DURING THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS.

NASHVILLE, TN –
Wellpath today announced a set of bonuses, increased paid time off and other benefits to help the thousands of frontline team members in sites providing clinical care during the coronavirus crisis.

In announcing the changes, Wellpath CEO Jorge Dominicis said, “Our primary goal is always to provide the best healthcare to vulnerable patients in challenging clinical environments. The only way we can do this is by making sure our dedicated team is supported, safe, and healthy. Their heroic work is meeting the challenges of the Coronavirus head on, and we will continue to do everything we can to support them.”

Wellpath, the nation’s largest provider of medical and mental healthcare in jails, prisons and state psychiatric facilities, announced that employees who are providing direct, in-person patient facing care, will be eligible for the bonuses, which range from $4 per regular hour worked for hourly team members, to $2000 for select salaried team members. In addition, Wellpath will provide frontline staff with an additional two weeks of sick leave for those who test positive for COVID-19, are asked to self-quarantine or are self-quarantined at the advice of a doctor. “We want to protect the health of our staff while they protect the health of their patients,” Wellpath President Kip Hallman said. “Additional sick leave will help make that possible.”

In addition, Wellpath announced enhanced benefits from their Dare to Care Employee Assistance Fund, which helps employees facing financial difficulties with grants of up to $1,000 per individual event and $2,000 lifetime maximum. Hardships associated with the pandemic will qualify for Dare to Care Grant assistance. Wellpath will match one-time donations of up to $50,000 for all combined employee contributions.

Finally, reflecting Wellpath’s commitment to shared sacrifice, until we are out of the crisis, the company’s executive leadership team will be taking reductions in compensation of more than 20%.

“We are honored to serve our clients at this challenging time,” Hallman concluded. “Our work is essential, our frontline team members are committed to excellence, and today we are taking steps to acknowledge all they do, to help them in this challenging time and to make it clear we have their backs.”
